Three Bilangs

Three giant bilang (string bags) are installed at the new Kangan TAFE building in Broadmeadows. We collaborated with acclaimed designer David Trubridge who has come from Aotearoa to construct the bilang. The material is sustainably grown bamboo and the weaving style emulates the looping style Aunty Kim uses to create a string bag. The colours of the bilang honour the ochres of Wurundjeri Country.
