Weaving Country

Weaving Country is a picture story book for families and early readers that tells the story of Gugung (grandmother) teaching her granddaughter, Walert to weave. Themes of matrilineal learning, and learning from Country through observation, listening and waiting are woven throughout the story. Beautifully illustrated by Nungar artist, Ash Pugh and written by Chris Joy and Aunty Kim, this book is a powerful celebration of Wurundjeri Country and culture.
